À la suite d’une intervention qui tourne mal, un policier se retrouve entre la vie et la mort, touché par le tir d’un mari violent. Alors que démarre une enquête de la police des polices, ses collègues sont contraints de se justifier. Ont-ils vraiment agi dans les règles? Les interrogatoires laissent des traces et poussent les policiers à se remettre en question, jusque dans l’intime.
