La guerre est terminée. Un ancien soldat retourne dans son village tombé en ruines. Sur le chemin à travers des ruines il est rattrapé par des souvenirs d’autrefois. Un petit garçon éprouve cet environnement tou à fait différemment. Comme seul survivant du village, il chasse un rat et ignore l’étranger dans un premier temps.
