Deux hommes homosexuels, Theo et Louis, s'embarquent pour un voyage en train à Paxmal. Ils transportent une urne – c'est le dernier voyage pour un ami. Sur leur chemin vers les Alpes suisses, les deux hommes, aux prises avec leur destin, rencontrent diverses personnes. Tandis que certaines de ces personnes rappellent à Théo et Louis les belles choses de la vie, d'autres les confrontent aux fantômes du passé.
