Zurich dans un proche avenir. La majorité de la population mondiale possède un TEL: un implant cérébral qui transforme les gens en télépathes surhumains. Ceux qui n'ont pas d'implant sont étiquetés comme «lents» et se retrouvent ostracisés de la société. Nous vivons un jour fatidique dans la vie de Jan, un agent de marketing prospère à la société TEL – et son amitié improbable avec les deux derniers inadaptés qui parlent encore.
