Caméra à l’épaule, le réalisateur accompagne, dans leur recherche d’autodétermination et de liberté, trois personnes travaillant dans le milieu bernois de la brocante. Renato Rota dont la brocante qu’il avait installé dans une ancienne usine de choucroute a dû s’effacer devant une nouvelle construction. Johannes Spycher qui, depuis 20 ans, expose ses objets dans une ancienne entreprise de torréfaction de café. Et Stefan Utiger qui s’est reconverti professionnellement et vient d’ouvrir sa brocante. Le film montre la capacité de résistance, la fantaisie et l’abnégation de ces hommes.
