Frédéric Mermoud
Director, Screenwriter, Producer
Born in 1969 in Sion, Switzerland. In 1994 he graduated with an MA in Literature from the University of Geneva. In 1999, he completed a degree in directing at the ECAL (École cantonale d'art de Lausanne), cinema department. He was recipient of the 2004 Swiss Film Award, Best Short Film for THE STAIRCASE (2003). In 2010 COMPLICES (2009) won the Swiss Film Award for Best Screenplay. In 2012, he directed LES REVENANTS, the cult Canal+ series. He returned to cinema with MOKA (2016), starring Emmanuelle Devos and Nathalie Baye, which was a big hit. He then plunged back into crime thrillers, shooting ENGRENAGES for Canal+. Finally, he directed and co-produced CRIMINAL FRANCE for Netflix (2019), a series in the form of a procedural huis-clos. LA VOIE ROYALE is his third feature film.
