Born in 1970 in Naples, Italy. Works as screenwriter and filmmaker, known for his award-winning films THE GREAT BEAUTY (2013), THIS MUST BE THE PLACE (2011) and IL DIVO (2008), all screened at the International Competition of past editions of the Festival de Cannes. THE GREAT BEAUTY won Best Foreign Language Film of the Year 2014 at the 86th Academy Awards as well as at the Golden Globes Awards 2014, the European Film Award 2014 and many more prizes.
Geboren 1970 in Neapel, Italien. Italienische Staatsbürgerschaft. Drehbuchautor und Filmregisseur. Bekannt für seine Filme LA GRANDE BELLEZZA (2013), THIS MUST BE THE PLACE (2011) und IL DIVO (2008), alle im Wettbewerb der vergangenen Ausgaben des Filmfestivals von Cannes. LA GRANDE BELLEZZA gewann 2014 jeweils den Oscar und den Golden Globe in der Kategorie Bester fremdsprachiger Film sowie vier Europäische Filmpreise.
