For weeks it has been cold and wet. It’s already getting late and Karl Winter is on his way home when, in somewhat sinister circumstances he runs into a strangely fascinating woman, Martha. It is the beginning of a love story of fatal momentum as Karl’s mind leaves the tracks of “reason”. Insidious dreams and almost imperceptible changes in his surroundings confirm the suspicion that with Martha, his life has taken a strange turning. “Sinking and sinking we fell deeper into one another’s arms. Somewhere outside lurked ruination. I was on my guard, without knowing why…” “Marthas Garten” is a sinister entertainment in black and white, as murderous as it is humorous.
