The 38th International Film Festival in La Rochelle (July 2-11, 2010) will offer its cinephile audience a closer look at Peter Liechti’s filmmaking and the opportunity to meet with the winner of the European Film Award - Prix Arte 2009. Jean-Stéphane Bron will also present his documentary film “Cleveland Versus Wall Street”, which celebrated its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section in Cannes. Bron’s film is scheduled for release mid-August in French cinemas.

Jean-Louis Porchet's short film "Les yeux de Simone", which premiered on the Piazza Grande in Locarno in 2009, and the portrait film "Daniel Schmid - Le chat qui pense" by Benny Jaberg and Pascal Hofmann which premiered at the Berlinale, will also be presented at this film festival on the Atlantic coast which is completely devoted to auteur films. In conjunction with an homage to Kazakh director Sergei Dvortsevoy, the festival will screen the film "Tulpan", a coproduction by Cobra Film in Zurich with Germany. In addition, six animation films produced at the Lucerne School of Art and Design (HSLU) will be screened in a children's programme, including Jadwiga Kowalska's film "Tôt ou tard", which won the Quartz 2009.
