Swiss Start-ups at the Marché du Film Cannes

As the Country of Honour at the Marché du Film 2024, Switzerland is also in the spotlight in Cannes as a pioneer in the field of innovation. The Marché du Film has set itself the goal of becoming the most innovative film market in the world. With the "Swiss Hub" booth for audiovisual technologies, exciting start-up showcases and the "Cannes Next" program, Switzerland is presenting a great deal of innovation "made in Switzerland". In doing so, it is also making an active contribution to the development of new technologies in film. A tour d'horizon.

Switzerland has top-class universities with numerous spin-offs. They are catalysts for a growing market in the field of new technologies. At the Marché du Film, the following Swiss start-ups will be presenting various audiovisual products in the "Swiss Hub" that point the way to the future of film.

With its AI platform, Largo.ai supports filmmakers through all stages of production and distribution using artificial intelligence. According to Largo.ai, users are three times more likely to get their content into production, demonstrating the platform's efficiency. The Lausanne-based start-up, a regular at the Marché for many years, will be explaining its unique tool during producer pitches and with demos at the "Swiss Hub".

Based in Zurich, Copresence stands at the forefront of avatar-generating innovation, positioning itself as a pivotal technology enterprise in the digital realm. The Copresence app was developed as a tool to run the technology to create an authentic digital twin of a person (avatar) in just a few minutes, which can be used in games, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) or, in the future, in post-production in the film industry.

Other participating international start-ups are based in Zurich: Sensoryx and Superposition. The city with a vibrant creative industry also attracts exciting start-ups from the audiovisual sector. That's why the Film Commission Zurich is breaking new ground and supporting Zurich start-ups that want to change the world of film.

Sensoryx powers motion tracking technology for virtual production and builds spatial tools. Their flagship instrument, Maliang, a magic pencil that enables precision sketching across dimensions.

Superposition is an offshoot of the award-winning creative robotics studio AATB, offering European producers services in the field of motion control using robotics. They will share insights into both current and upcoming trends in the motion control industry at the Village International. It is planned that Superposition will also present their work at the "Virtual Production Summit".
