The story of Colorado sheriff Nolan Sharpless, who risks everything when the kidnapping of a seemingly innocent Swiss tourist turns into a hunt for one of America's most elusive career criminals. Mixing elements of tabloid journalism and reality TV, Nolan’s dogged pursuit of the mysterious Birdseye blazes an outlandish comic trail through the minefield of American society at the turn of the millennium.
