Viktor is on the verge of taking his life in his barn when he is interrupted by the sound of a car crash. He goes outside and discovers that a car has hurtled into a tree next to his barn. A woman is struggling with the airbags, annoyed by her situation. Viktor is not exactly enthused about this encounter. What he doesn't know, however, is that Eugenie also wanted to commit suicide. They wind up in the kitchen and an argument develops. Both attempt to gloss over their suicide attempts. As Eugenie allows herself to be consoled by Viktor, he regains the courage to face life.
