The Swiss painter Albrecht Schnider is as shy as he is versatile. What distinguishes him is his vast experience of 30 years of artistic creativity. The film deals with the intimate, occasionally agonizing struggle for every picture, and with the very personal act of perception itself. The art world has changed as radically as the ways of social perception and hence we ask: How up to date is the strive for the “truth” of a painting? Does the digital media overload still allow a close look at a picture and its reflection in our own sensations?
