A Czech family's odyssey through the “Golden West” at the end of the “swinging sixties”. In a style that is both poetic and realistic the film shows just how difficult it is for people to become assimilated. Hannah, the story's 12-year-old heroine, sees and understands much more than those around her. And it is from her perspective of wide-eyed innocence that we make this journey of adventure. A story about the loss of one's homeland, about the malice of people in foreign places, and the way people sometimes fall into traps they have set themselves.
