A piece of music is being created. Composer Annette Schmucki permits filmmaker Urs Graf to accompany her for two years to witness the process of composing a piece of music, from the very first inkling on. After four months of work she mentions: “Now I’d exactly know how to continue this work if I continued the way one usually would, but this is not what I want; it is very important to me that I stay alert, so that there’s always the chance I may run into something unexpected, something that exceeds me, that exceeds what I can imagine, what I, myself, can conceive.”
