After Anuk, son of Pe-Kai and the last of the Naluk, once defeated a mighty warrior horde with Moem's daughter Meha, people tell their story all over the hearth fires of winter. But again the world has become restless and dark: a mountain has burnt and spit fire and darkened the sky, and the winter that came has driven Anuk and his “Nameless People” out of the highlands. Alien in the great forests of the lowlands, a new fate arises for them.
