After more than fifty years of investigation, a team of Swiss and Greek archaeologists discovered the temple of Artemis at Amarynthos, one of the last great Greek sanctuaries not to have been located. The repercussions were considerable: it was one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Greece in the last twenty years.
