At the Cybathlon, the world’s first bionic Olympiad, racing pilots with disabilities compete against one another using assistive devices, including robotic technologies. Research teams from around the world gather at the Cybathlon, at which Switzerland is also competing with several teams. The filmmaker accompanies a team from ETH Zurich that is further developing an exoskeleton, as well as the pilot who ought to be able to walk again using the device – his hopes and fears when he steps into the arena. Critics of this fusing of humans and machines have their say as well.
