Based on documentary and fictionalised sound and spatial set pieces from the context of auditions and castings, a cinematic labyrinth of waiting room, corridor and concert room scenarios emerges. The liminal treatment turns them into places of unhappiness, which is also the subject of Robert Schumann's music - "Ich hab im Traum geweinet" (I wept in my dream) - which underpins the intricate form like a melancholy heartbeat.
