Bulle, a small town in the Swiss Alpine, is undergoing an industrial transformation. The protective and agreeable bubble of this picture-postcard landscape is home to the Aubert family, whose pleasant domestic life changes drastically as they are brutally confronted with Alice’s illness at the age of 35. It is a shock wave that burst the bubble in which each of them has settled.
Bulle è una piccola città svizzera, circondata da pascoli. Ma questo mondo ideale da cartolina, una bolla protetta e consensuale, sta subendo un cambiamento industriale. È qui che vivono gli Aubert, tre generazioni che sembrano convivere in armonia nonostante i piccoli conflitti all'interno e intorno alla loro fattoria. Il mondo della famiglia va in frantumi quando si trova ad affrontare la brutale malattia di Alice, 35 anni. Attraverso tre generazioni di donne, il pubblico sperimenta la separazione, la paura della morte, la nascita e infine il ritorno alla vita.
