Caravaggio becomes a maestro who four hundred years ago created a revolution whose consequences have spread up to today. He is seen, studied and reinterpreted by movies and photographers, he is re-read by the protagonists of contemporary art, who are forced to come to terms with his “discoveries”. He comes back to live next to us, an ineludible reference point for the builders of images. Realists or not. His contradictions place him closer to us: Religious painter, transgressive and violent bohemian.
