Geneva’s school of . ne arts (ESBA, Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts) class of 2002/2003, played host to . lmmakers Pascal Magnin and Alexandra Nurock, who wanted to follow the progress of six students from the start of the new year right up to the presentation of their work to the juries. The . lm is a subjective portrait of the school, or more precisely a chronicle of the life of six students and their various activities in a number of different artistic disciplines. The . lm captures a certain ambient feeling or atmosphere and in particular re. ects the perspectives of the . lmmakers themselves and of their subjects at a given time in the history of the ESBA, on the eve of some rather radical transformations due to its integration in the higher vocational college system (HES), the arrival of a new director, sweeping structural reforms and the recruitment of a whole new group of teachers.
