The setting of the film is a Chinese language school in Stuttgart. Here children with Chinese roots study their mother tongue together with German-speaking adults who are learning to speak Chinese due to business interests in China. With their focus on China, the Germans broaden their individual cultural understanding, while the children of Chinese extraction perceive the school as a place to experience their bonds with the Chinese culture.
