Biel, beginning of summer. The period of obligatory education is about to end for Evi, Richi and Rado. All three are absolutely determined to end this phase of their education with the university entrance level certificate, but do not have the grades to enter the secondary school. Especially the maths teacher, Mettler, does more than his share to see that their progress ends here. And because the three protagonists attempt to reach their goal through dishonest means, they can hardly count on any solidarity from their classmates. Finally, neither cheating, lies nor a hunger strike can change the fact that they are about to be thrown out. The last chance for obtaining the certificate is to attend a private grammar school. But it is very expensive, and they only have three weeks to raise the money. Because their pleas only fall on deaf ears – and empty pockets – they become more and more entangled in foolish escapades.
