Like so many young Mexicans Luis dreams of one day becoming a professional boxer to escape from this life of poverty. He and his sister Lucila decide to leave their family and their village in the south of Mexico and to try their luck across the border in the United States, where they end up living as illegals. What will become of them and their dreams? Filmed over a period of eight years on both sides of the border, this documentary retraces the destiny of a family divided by poverty. The common destiny of the many who find themselves excluded from the world of prosperity around them.
