Gina, 15, lives in a suburb on the edge of a forest. She admires her father, an unpredictable man and a bit of a dreamer, who takes his children for walks in the woods in the middle of the night, sometimes also forgetting them there. Jimmy’s increasingly frequent blunders end up alarming Carole, his wife, and soon the family’s fragile balance is disrupted when Jimmy is committed to a psychiatric hospital. When Gina meets Nico, a boy from her neighborhood, she discovers love, but also sees an opportunity to plan her father’s escape.
