“La pescheria” is what the fish mongers call the fish market in the Sicilian language. Selling fish in Catania is a male domain. The Film shows how the fishmongers tout their fish, how they handle it and how they set up and take down the market every day. The market setting is an inner courtyard and the adjoining market hall, which presents itself as a stage for the fish sellers and their customers. This film illustrates the delightful tales which take place at the market stand and during the sale of fish.
