Why does anyone choose to live and work in a circus at a time when comfort, job stability, status and security in all its forms have become so generally desired? What might inspire anyone to give himself body and soul to life as an acrobat, a saltimbanco, a harlequin? The film follows a small family circus across French Switzerland, from the first stages of the show to the end of the road-trip. Competition from television and the major circuses is tough, but the artists struggle to live out their passion and their dream.
