“Our good reasons for living” could have been the title of this documentary, which consists of brief moments captured from the lives of ten inhabitants of a straggling lakeside village: ten faces chosen at random by the director while out for a stroll. Working alone, he listens to men and women confiding a thought, a memory, an anecdote-simply and devoid of affectation. These ten accounts - some comic, others moving – are ten testimonies to our hopes, our sufferings and our beliefs, and the words invite reflection on the very essence of documentary work.
