It is after 7 and Melvin is late. He throws on his clothes and dashes down the stairs, a sandwich in one hand and his briefcase in the other. Rushing out of his building, he comes face-to-face with Madame Neymaud, his aged neighbour, who is carrying two large sacks. Despite his lateness, he decides to help her. Further on, he comes to the aid of a group of lost tourists. Gradually Melvin’s lateness increases as he takes the time to come to the aid of other people needing help that he meets along his way.
