It was the belief of Max Bircher-Benner (1867-1939), medical doctor and nutritionist reformer, that the cause of most human ailments could be safely attributed to bad eating habits and general abuse of the body. He elaborated a new set of rules based on a vegetarian diet, to create the conditions for a healthy life. The world famous "Bircher Müesli" seems to be his most enduring legacy. This documentary film takes a closer look at the revolutionary views of this exceptional nutritionist, and presents the views of some of his latter-day followers.
