Austria 1995. Five young people from different backgrounds – Jasmin, Tamara, Roman, Senrad and Valentin – meet in Vienna and for a brief time share their lives and aspirations. Alone or in twos, in perfect harmony or in conflict, with themselves or with the others, each of the five try to make the best of the new situation. In Vienna's northern skirts, between jobs, unwanted pregnancy, laboriously repressing experiences from the war in Yugoslavia and the duty of protecting the Austrian border with weapons in hand, the five young people try to give each other support and warmth. Often unwieldy and clumsy, they are filled with the desire to love and be loved, until life again sends them in different directions.
