Sabrina is a midwife. Although devoted to a job where her abilities are appreciated, away from it she lives a lonely life. When she meets Emrush, an agricultural worker employed by a market gardening enterprise, the dream of shared happiness is reborn. But when she discovers she is pregnant, Sabrina prefers not to tell Emrush. He guesses the truth, however, and is ready to accept his responsibilities as a father and together found a family. Sabrina withdraws into her shell, excluding Emrush from all decisions. Eventually he yields to the pressures of his own people and returns to his native land.
