While on a reporting assignment in 1997, filmmaker and journalist Carole Pirker made the acquaintance of Dr Charles Bugnon of Thierrens, in the canton of Vaud. Falling under the spell of this remarkable man, she documents his views on the subjects dearest to his heart – sex education, comforting the dying, working with drug addicts – and puts it all on the record in a way that reveals the generosity of spirit of this humanist doctor.
