On the 20th August 1885, a 22-year old woman kills her husband in an alpine hut located in Val Sumvitg in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The perpetrator has a small child and is pregnant with her second at the time. She is sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment and spends 20 years in total isolation in the “Sennhof” prison in Chur. Thereafter she returns to her hometown of Rabius, where she dies on the 14th November 1948, shortly before her 85th birthday. A filmed account of the tragedy, which is unique in the judicial history of the canton of Graubünden.
