Jürg Kienberger and Bruno Cathomas are two outstanding protagonists in today’s German-speaking theater. Both come from the Rhaeto-Romanic region of the Grisons, which is simultaneously a burden and a rich source for their profession. Kienberger draws on his childhood in Waldhaus, a 5-star hotel in Sils; Cathomas is at odds with his Romanic origins and Catholic upbringing. However, the two have
succeeded as a European variation of the American dream. This documentary shows what inspires the two contrasting actors and what they signify in contemporary theater.
