The film takes us on a journey through the architectural landscape of French-speaking Switzerland, showing us that the region’s architects are every bit as talented as their celebrated colleagues in German- and Italian-speaking Switzerland. It takes a close look at the visionary work of architect and urbanist Rodolphe Luscher, and with the examples of Patrick Devanthéry and Inès Lamunière shows that it is still possible to find new solutions even in densely populated areas. Philippe Gueissaz transforms abandoned factories, a challenge that becomes increasingly important as we move into a post-industrial society. This documentary also shows how some of the newer firms of architects, like Andrea Bassi of Geneva and Oliver Galletti & Claude Matter of Lausanne, have managed to remain independent while turning out high-quality work in an increasingly difficult business environment..
