Ritz tells the legendary rise and the subsequent fall of Swiss farmer boy Cesar Ritz to the most sought-after hotel manager of his time. The coronation of the Prince of Wales was thought to be the peak of his career, only to fall flat because of the royal appendicitis. Ritz has a nervous breakdown that eventually leads to his lonely death in a clinic near Lucerne, while his hotels, especially the Ritz Paris continue to praise the genius of its little known founder.
