Serbia in 1941: After a partisan attack, the Wehrmacht officer Michael Berg faces a difficult decision. Should he torture a man who is possibly innocent in order to save 100 village inhabitants? Based on a true story, the film tells the story of a soldier caught in the confusion of war and his struggle with human values.
