After a decade of difficulties, cracks are showing in the facade of Swiss economic prosperity. Under a government programme, homeless are herded together, given badges and vague half-hearted promises of help. Two policemen, a cross between social workers and thugs. have the duty of keeping them in line. The media, looking for a scoop but not prepared to wait until it happens naturally, offer to pay one homeless to kill another. Are intolerance, discrimination and extremism the stuff of human nature?
