A small Slovak town on the border with Hungary: in the early 1940s 2743 Jews lived in Komárno, today there are still 45. Swiss documentary filmmaker Peter Scheiner, born and raised in Komárno, has been documenting the development of Jewish life in the city since 1998. The film deals with the crimes of the Nazis on the Danube and shows the increasing anti-Semitism in the region, but also the commitment of young Komárners who fight for the survival of the Jewish community.
