The post-war period in Sarajevo and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Amnesia, confused perspectives, the feeling of emptiness that yearning and mourning leave in the survivors who search and endlessly wait for “those who disappeared” – over 20,000 of them – in the four years of war. A young woman, Esma Palic, would like to find out what really happened to her husband Avdo, a charismatic military leader from the “protected” enclave of Zepa who disappeared on 28 July 1995.
