Thomas Haemmerli hears of his mother’s death on his 40th birthday of all days. But when he steps into her apartment, he gets an even greater shock: she has left behind an apartment piled high with rubbish. During a month-long clean up with his brother Erik, they find family pictures dating back to the 1930s, and out of the chaos a curious family saga emerges where Baronesses, Counts and Italian playboys, as well as a young Kofi Annan played a part. Dark humor is aplenty in this fast paced and quirkily edited film.
