Scheidegger, Häggli, Welliker and Brandt are four retired men. Their friendship fell apart many years ago. Now they meet again to spend a weekend golfing and to clear up some old quarrels from the past. Despite their stubborn character, the four men begin to discover their old friendship again. But then Scheidegger reveals his poor health condition and his wish to die.
