Accompanied by soft voices whispering promises of super promotions, the advantages of super prices, and the urgency of profiting from super sales, you enter the bowels of the supermarket. Provided with bargain yogurts and discounted toilet paper, you meet others handling scanners and palettes, cutlets and pre-baked bread, management software and rebate coupons. You skim supermarket shelves with them, thread your way between checkout lines, and ease into the strange silence of the break room. Behind the closed doors of a Swiss supermarket, this film takes a critical, empathetic and amused look at the universe of mass food retailing.
