Two men are being interviewed in a parallel montage. One of them, an American Vietnam War veteran, hopes to learn how to cope with the trauma of his youth by living today in Ho Chi Minh City. The other, a Vietnamese, who experienced the same war as a child refugee in the USA, perceives his uprooting more as an opportunity.
