In 2004, Beat Schweiter was spending his Christmas holidays with his companion Judith Kressig in the Paradise Hotel in Khaolak, Thailand, when the tsunami took them by surprise. The tidal wave swept them away: Judith Kressig lost her life and, although Beat Schweiter was seriously injured, he survived. The following autumn, Beat Schweiter returned to Thailand and also to Khaolak, to the place where he had looked death in the face. Reporter Silvia Graber Venetz accompanied him on this grievous journey. Beat Schweiter gives his impressive account of his struggle to survive and his incredible hospital odyssey in Thailand.
