The formidable economic expansion at the beginning of the 1960s made it possible to achieve a standard of living inconceivable prior to that time. But the consequence was the birth of a "throw-away society". Denial is no longer an option: the ravaging of the environment is causing harm to human beings. This documentary traces the evolution of this realisation. It is not ancient history, rather it is the beginning of the one we are currently living ... with the simple acknowledgement that the diagnosis was already made fifty years ago.
