“Please, Giuseppe, save me if you love me! Don't leave me in this shitty town!” In her last letter to her fiancé, Valentina didn't mince words: she wanted to escape that village in the province of Brescia, so different and so far away from where she was born and had lived until then. Valentina is a thirteen-year old girl from the south, forced by her mother to move with her to northern Italy, where she had made a new life for herself. A journalist and a filmmaker follow the story: Behind the news of Valentina's disappearance and recovery, there is another story to be told – other situations and conflicts. The suffering of Valentina, that of an adolescent torn from her native village, is not unlike the precarious situation of her mother who is married to a Moroccan and squatting in a tumble-down house. They are about to be evicted and the local authority has nothing else to offer them.
«Giuseppe, ti prego, se mi ami salvami! Non lasciarmi in questo paese di merda.» Nella sua ultima lettera al fidanzato, Valentina non aveva usato mezzi termini: voleva scappare da quel paese in provincia di Brescia, così diverso e così lontano da dove era nata e vissuta fino ad allora. Valentina è una ragazza meridionale di tredici anni, obbligata dalla mamma a seguirla nel nord Italia, dove lei si è rifatta una vita. Un giornalista e un cineasta seguono la vicenda: dietro la notizia della scomparsa e poi del ritrovamento di Valentina, c’è un’altra storia da raccontare, altre situazioni e altri conflitti. La sofferenza di Valentina, adolescente strappata dal paese dove è cresciuta, si unisce alla situazione precaria della madre, sposata con un marocchino e occupante abusiva di una casa fatiscente. … Ora lo sfratto incombe e il Comune non ha altre soluzioni da proporre alla famiglia.
