In 2008 a Swiss man made international headlines: Helg Sgarbi from Zurich demanded 14 million euros from Germany’s wealthiest women, the BMW heiress Susanne Klatten, whom he blackmailed with sex videos. Sgarbi was sentenced to six years in prison. For the time being, his alleged agent, a sect leader, got off. The charismatic Italian had systematically seduced and manipulated young Swiss men. Sgarbi, who had also swindled millions from a countess from Lucerne, was just the tip of the iceberg.
